Frequently Asked Questions for

blog title no-sell fundraiser

Q: What is a No-Sell Fundraiser?
A: It’s simply a fundraising drive where people give donations to support the PTA. No goods or services are exchanged. It’s designed to encourage participation by eliminating the obligation to buy something you and your friends may not actually want.

Q: How do I participate?
A: You can either give online via PayPal at paypal.me/crestwoodpta, or send your child back to school with any envelope or the one provided with the promotional flyer you received on Oct. 5. Be sure to include your child’s teacher’s name on the envelope or in the notes section of PayPal.

Q: Can grandparents or friends from out of the area donate?
A: Sure! Out-of-towners, or anyone without a child at Crestwood can donate online. If mailing a donation is preferred, anyone can send a check to Crestwood Elementary School PTA. The address is 6010 Hanover Avenue, Springfield, VA 22150.

Q: How much should I give?
A: We’re hoping to get a $10 donation per child attending the school, but we completely understand that not everyone will be able to give that much. But if you’re moved to give more than that, our students and teachers will thank you!

Q: When does the No-Sell Fundraiser end?
A: We’re hoping to meet our goal of $4,000 by the end of the first school quarter, Nov. 3, 2017. But donations will be accepted at any time.

Q: Is this tax-deductible? May I get a receipt?
A: Yes! Crestwood Elementary PTA is a nonprofit organization as described in section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Tax Code. Donations are deductible to the extent permitted by law. Simply donate by check, or online so we will have your information so we can send you a receipt.

Q: What if I want to give money, but I just can’t right now? How can I help the PTA?
A: There are many ways to help!

  1. You can collect and send in BoxTops for Education, a program that allows you to clip coupons from products you’re already likely using. Here’s a full list of products where you can find the Box Top coupons.
  2. If you shop at Giant Food stores, you can register your Giant card online, so that every purchase you make will benefit Crestwood (and/or another school you may choose to designate). Register and get more information here.
